DESKUPDATE
==========

DeskUpdate is an application for automatically software installation (drivers and utilities).
Pleas start "DeskUpdate.exe" and follow the instructions.

Please note:
- The installation of the entire system can take some minutes.
- Only hardware that was included in delivery will be supported.
- Please close appearing "Found New Hardware Wizard" pop-up windows with "cancel".
- Due to technical reasons DeskUpdate is not able to identify and install every kind of Software automatically. 
  Please check on your Drivers and Utilites DVD or on the web page ts.fujitsu.com, if there are further drivers or software for a manually installation available. 


Data protection and privacy:  
You can use DeskUpdate to update your system over the internet.
This connection is SSL encrypted. 
The operating system name and system-id will be transmitted to Fujitsu Technology.


Important Files:
DeskUpdate.exe	--> GUI Version of DeskUpdate
ducmd.exe	--> Command line version of DeskUpdate (You'll find detailed information in ducmd_README.txt)






DeskUpdate Proxyserver Settings
-------------------------------
To use DeskUpdate with a proxyserver it is necessary to modify the file config.ini.

PROXY_TYPE = 0
PROXY_USERNAME =
PROXY_PASSWORD =
PROXY_AUTOCONFIG_URL =
PROXY_SERVER =

PROXY_TYPE:
0 => use windows internet settings
1 => no proxy
2 => proxy, PROXY_SERVER must be specified, PROXY_ USERNAME and PROXY_PASSWORD are optional
4 => auto proxy url, PROXY_AUTOCONFIG_URL must be specified, PROXY_ USERNAME and PROXY_PASSWORD are optional
8 => automatic detection, PROXY_ USERNAME and PROXY_PASSWORD are optional

When PROXY_USERNAME is empty, no proxy authentication will be used






Troubleshooting
===============

Error message "Revocation information not available"
----------------------------------------------------

To check the validity of the security certificate DeskUpdate must have access to the following revocation lists:

- http://crl.geotrust.com/crls/secureca.crl 
- http://crl.i.tcssl.trustcenter.de/crl/v2/tc_SSL_CA_I.crl

If you get the following error message: 'Revocation information for the security certificate for this site is not available …',
please add the following adresses to the whitelist of your proxy server. 

- geotrust.com
- trustcenter.de
